Transport Mechanism: "New" Sage Goddess Emerald Essence ultra-concentrated tincture, fresh shipment of from sagewisdom.org.

As introduction, one of my favorite pursuits as a youth was to lose myself in the stacks of a library and just open random books with interesting titles and begin reading. I became interested in hypnosis since first skimming from a book on clinical hypnosis. Thus was my mind primed when I happened upon "The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar". A mesmerist describes placing a man in a suspended hypnotic state at the moment of death. I took it to be a factual account as there was no indication that it might be fictional. After every hair on my body was standing on end, I noticed the author, - Edgar Allan Poe!

I've been interested in hypnosis and psychic phenomena ever since! The effects of psychedelics and Salvia Divinorum certainly qualified.

After lots of online reading, I spent the afternoon around the house and garden in quiet anticipation. I had stopped all herbal & prescription medications for about one week prior for an unrelated reason trying to isolate a suspected side effect. One egg salad sandwich for lunch. My plan was to experience in the dark and in silence. My recollections were written in the most part on the following day because I didn't wish to disturb the raw experience. Also, I'm somewhat prone to asthma, which biased me towards preferring a tincture.

I can now state with certainty that the few Salvia D experiences I've had through attempts at smoking, chewing and homemade tincture previous to yesterday had been threshold at most. Although interesting, I strongly suspected that I hadn't experienced anything like the breakthrough that other people seemed to discribe. This experience on Salvia Divinorum was nothing like I'd led myself to expect.

I should mention that I preceded the recommended multiple dose sublingual tincture procedure with Oxyfresh mouthwash and a vibrating toothbrush ( brushing recommended by TIM, over at JUST SAY ONCE TO SALVIA http://justsayonce.g2gm.com/). Since I can produce lots of saliva ( not to be confused with salvia), I stuffed a dry rag into my mouth before taking the first dose. These actions may have enhanced absorption.

Referencing the accompanying brochure, I decided that I could do a light to moderate dose without a sitter, since I didn't want to inconvenience myself or anyone else. LOL - WRONG! Unpredictable is my new Salvia D. watchword!

I used the diluted tincture "Light to Moderate" dose of the sagewisdom.org "New" Sage Goddess Emerald Essence ultra-concentrated tincture, as recommended per accompanying brochure ( 1 dropper, mix in 1 separate dropper of hot water, then immediately swashing around in mouth for 4 minutes before swallowing, then quickly repeating again for a total of 3 times at 4 minute intervals). I didn't particularly experience either fear or pleasure, possibly because the sublingual absorption may be a bit more gentle than smoking. It does make me wonder just where a "Strong" dose would have landed me.

Just before taking the 3rd dose I recognized the initial colorful uptake into now familiar Salvia threshold experience that I had seen before on previous attempts at smoking or chewing Salvia. As it was coming on, I just managed to maintain enough coordination to get the 3rd dose into my mouth. I had planned on turning off the light after the 3rd dose, but by that time, any recollection of the existence of light switches or anything else had vanished.

Blown over the top of any visual scale I could have anticipated, my consciousness kept expanding and swirling upward, downward, outward, accelerating every which way until it seemed like my existence had dissolved into a puddle of scintillating intricate and brightly colored patterns. This perception lasted an undetermined amount of time, since the concept of time itself had become moot.

I slowly became aware that I was immobilized, flat on my back with just my mouth and nose breaking the surface of this visual field. I don't know if my eyes were open or closed. Soon the fingers of my right hand discovered the crack under the door which was above my head. This was to became my anchor to the physical world.

Thinking I'd move at that point became a monumental joke. There was no longer any ME to move. I thought I heard a laugh, most likely me, but just as likely from some cosmic joker. I had become a victim of just the sort of practical joke someone might gleefully pull on their best friend.

I found myself struggling to get up, all the while while reminding myself that moving would be really stupid, since I hardly had a much of a grip on anything. With what seemed like enormous mental effort, I was able to bunch together enough of the universe to where I could lurch off the floor and into my bed. It was in accomplishing this movement that I believe I bruised my thigh on the bed footboard, not noticed until the following day. Loss of control now became a goal to overcome.

One of the things that always reverberated to the core of my being when using classical psychedelics was music. Not wanting any extraneous sounds or music to intrude, I had began in silence. I became eager to investigate the effect of music while on Salvia and had pre-positioned a guitar within reach of the bed. After awhile, when I was capable, I picked it up and clumsily began to play.

The experience of playing music was significantly different from that of being influenced by classical psychedelics that I've used. The string vibrations didn't resonant as deep emotionally. However, there was a different aspect to playing that became apparent. Technique became much more apparent. Rhythm, tempo and fingering became an important goal. Although my coordination was initially hampered and mistakes were many, I found I could rediscover long forgotten progressions. That still doesn't mean I can play worth a flip, but the lessons were meaningful to me nonetheless.

After playing music and meditating for about 3 hours, I decided to ground myself by eating some food. Even upon writing this the day after, I still seemed to sense an underlying glow of universal energy behind everything, something glowing just behind a mesh of consensus reality. I often have this same feeling when I'm fatigued, but this experience seems to have put that feeling into a positive perspective which has persisted.

I'm impressed & very open to investigating this phenomena further, but feel no compulsion to do so. I see no immediate need to try any stronger dose, tho that may change.

While I'd never push anyone into trying Salvia, with emphasis on set & setting I wouldn't particularly discourage it. Widespread inquiry may even contribute towards mutual tolerance amongst earthly inhabitants!

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

This is the plant received in the post from http://www.sagewisdom.org/salviashop.html after transplanting into a larger container of Miracle Grow Moisture Control Potting Soil. Measured 15cm/6 inches above the soil.

Little flies attacked it almost immediately, but I think I have it under control after a dusting with Pyrethrum :p
