Hi all, ive been planning on doing a proper grow, and now i have the money ive decided on a few things i would like.
i would like opinions on whether or not these items go together and would work.
the space i will be growing in is small, so im looking to get the dark room 60
60cmX60cmX140cm
I have a 400w hps with ballast and reflector
I would like to purchase the phat filter/ruck fan
but i think it may get a little too hot in there so i was looking to get a cool tube reflector, is this needed? or will i get away with the ruck?
remember ive only got 140cm of height so will this all fit in if i was to purchase it all? and id be hoping to veg for atleast 4 weeks.
Thanks.

haven't grown myself yet but i think a 250w should be ok for that space and it would also help with the heat, a 400w is tops!
is there a way you could cut a hole to allow used air out (after being filtered) if so that would help with the heat and air movement, without something like this being done i don't think a cool tube reflector would make much difference

Hey, well i got in contact with the company and ive decided to go with the dark room 80 which measures 80cm x 80cm x 160cm which is ideal for a 400w, and i wont need a cool tube.
If your thinking of growing 4-6 plants then my setup is ideal and you could get it all for around £350
heres my items so far

dark room 80
humidity/thermometer
200w red envirolite
phat filter and ruck fan
perlite
6x 6l square pots
mulit purpose compost
2x timers
small fan
bio bizz grow/bloom
propegator
clonex

Looks like you are off to a great start, KM. :) Ensure that you will have some method of getting fresh air pulled into the cab...it's a must. Also, you will need some type of pH tester (either digital pen or strips, or drops), and some type of pH up and down to adjust your water...this is also a MUST Have, since the herb plant species is very sensitive and must have the proper pH range at all times. Otherwise you will be frustrated with the development problems. Oh yeah, it will be helpful to be able to test the pH of your soil. Some have a naturally high pH, so try and find out what it is if you can. Some cool soil pH adjusting info is here: http://www.drugs-forum.com/growfaq/1538.htm
Best to you,
Steel
