Heeeello everyone.. Acid Tramp and I are currently preparing for what we hope to be a very insightful LSD trip. Of course one of the most essential parts of the psychedelic experience is music... So I've been building a personal acid playlist, which I will list here.
Also, I'd appreciate your advice on the tracks, and also if you could point me in the right direction of any tunes suitable it would be muchos appreciated. At the moment the playlist stands at 4 hours approximately. I'm aiming for about 7 hours.
Some of the playlist is in order but alot of it is chaotically strewn about the place, but here we are:
Magical Mystery Tour - The Beatles
Care of Cell 44 - Zombies
Show Your Hand - Super Furry Animals
Shadow Of The Sun - Paul Weller
Nude - Radiohead
Brand New Day - Sting

A lot of it looks good...but Belle & Sebastian??? A great band but not one I could imagine tripping to. If you check previous messages in either w.w.weed or maybe psychonautica I had a similar thread asking for suggestions and then listed a playlist a lot of which I would highly recommend even if it is just to add a bit of variety. If you can't find it I will happily recommend some tracks that will go down (imho) very well.;)

Nice one man, thanks :)
The downer stuff is really for music that I know I will trip well to, like you said, tried and tested :)
By the way, Acid Tramp came up with a really awesome answer to the Door's song "The End." He figured out (whilst tripping) that the mid-section ("And he went to his door... Father I want to kill you etc.) is actually referring to ego death, Father being some sort of Freudian example of the ego. So therefore, not such a scary song anymore :D

Could be! Each one to his own on somethings then....love Radioheads "No surprises" but don't know what I would feel about it tripping......."I'll Take the quiet life and I'll Take the carbon monoxide..."...........CHEERY!! Out of my list, I do urge you to get Leb Wohl, silver apples of the moon and D-Composer at least......you can hunt them down on the file sharing system soulseek.:)

Hhhmmm....that's an interesting take on it. I always thought the Hall of Masks was from Greek Mythology, and the Oedipal lust demonstrated by killing the father, oh and, "Mother, I want to f**k you!". I always thought he did actually want to kill poor ole dad! Also, killing sister and brother to get them out of the way of affection too! Classic Oedipus!
May I suggest a dose of Hawkwind?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hawkwind

True...Hawkwind do the trick and "Space Ritual" would be ideal......I would like to point out that they did make it onto my playlist above!!;)

Tramp, I don't know about you but I like to LAUGH my ass of silly, some truth and love music is great true enough. One of the most farout trips I had was sitting up at my girlfriends house in college, in the next room trying to "maintain" and not disturb her roommate we listened to the soundtrack of "Animal House", not the music, the whole movie, sound only, we laughed our asses of all night. I'm sure the kid at the comunity radio station knew exactly what he was doing:D:D:D

Just tried to think up an odd mixture of music; many songs of which have been quite enjoyable for me in the past. Sometimes set and setting, as well as the general mood and point within the trip, have a lot to do with what works. Being surprised and hearing something for the first time makes a huge difference as well.
Suzy Q- Creedence Clearwater Revival
Time Has Come Today(full version)- Chambers Brothers
Green Grass and High Tides- Outlaws
Return of the Giant Hogweed- Genesis
Wishing You Were Here- Chicago
Fountain of Salmacis- Genesis
Halcyon+On+On- Orbital
Hocus Pocus (full version)- Focus
I'm Not In Love (full version, 6min.)- 10cc
Vanilla Queen- Golden Earring
Condition- Kenny Rogers and the First Edition
Lady In Black- Uriah Heep
Rain Song- Led Zepplin
Midnight Rider- Allman Brothers
My Beloved- Enigma & Deep Forest
Knights In White Satin- Moody Blues
Garden of Allah- Don Henley
Father Speaks- Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies
Love Is Like Oxygen- Sweet
Sensual Enjoyments- Sven Vath
Do It Again- Steely Dan
Take Five- Dave Brubeck
When Jesus Left Birmingham- John Mellencamp
Crash Into Me- Dave Matthews Band
Time- Alan Parsons Project
Just noticed this thread..A firm favorite of mine from back in the day has to be...
The Irresistible Force - Global Chillage
The whole album, the other two albums are great to
Flying High & It's Tommorow Already.
Have a good trip, Peace Elfa
