This is a very good film of a growroom build from start to cropping. Best I've seen so far.

Yea that is the dutch grow video. A very good one.
I like the "Mr. Green: I grow Chronic" also.

I've enjoyed each of those videos many times over the years. If I recall they each fail to talk much about a very important thing...pH! :) Mr. Green touches on it, but does not talk at all about how pH will fluctuate in the reservoir.
Other than that...awesome references. :D

Out of curiousity...is there a way to stop it from fluctuating in the reservoir?

There is a product called Doc's Even Keel (http://www.shamanshop.net/store/proddetail.cfm/ItemID/601758.0/CategoryID/10000.0/SubCatID/1045.0/file.htm). I've never used it.
The pH fluctuates as the plants eats, drinks, and shits. Yup, they shit too. The plant gets rid of waste through the roots. If the plant doesn't need any nutes and just drinks the water, pH goes down. If it starts eating nutes but doesn't drink the water, the pH goes up.

I've read that with a couple hundred dollars you can build an automatic pH adjuster. Need a digital pH meter that is always in the water, a timer, and some type of pH adjusting delivery system. Basically, if the pH drops below your desired level, it will trigger the system to add pH up in small increments each hour until its corrected...works for pH down too. It's all a do-it-yourself project and you can read all about it here (http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=56155).

These videos make me want to run out and just start buying stuff. It's horrible.
I get the same feeling when I watch those Do It Yourself channels and they show people remodeling their homes, I'm always jumping up after the shows to see what little projects around the house I can start working on.
The very fist time I had seen the Mr. Green's: I grow Chronic and I stared making a list. But what is great about those movies is the fact that they give you a nice visual so that when you listen to the Grow shows, if you have no experience, you at least have a frame of reference to know what some of the stuff is.
Those videos always make me drool. Thank God (Horace) that my wife is the rational one that keeps my feet planted (ha ha, plant-ed) firmly on the ground, otherwise I'm sure I would have invested hundreds of dollars and would be the proud owner of a bunch of lumber and some expensive lamps.

That's why I've started really listening to The Grow Report. I've read some books and although I feel I understand how to grow much better than before I read anything, I still feel I don't know enough.
I have to say that I find I know what questions to ask at this point and after being in the chats with some guys who actually grow, I have gotten a lot of some real good start up info. So I now know what I should be thinking about when I am looking at lights or in the nursery looking at soil.
And now when I listen to Zandor on the Grow Report, he makes a heck of a lot more sense. But I want to understand the process a little bit better before I go out and start buying some pretty expensive equipment. I figure better to do it correct the first time than make any costly mistakes.
Which is the same excuse I use to avoid buying a pressure cooker.

Auto dosers are available from a few manufacturers, try Autogrow. One sure way of solving the prob is to go run to waste instead of recirculating. This can solve a lot of problems and reduce fertilser amounts needed for a given crop.

in the original link posted, the dutch guy mentions anti detection foil (or something like that)
what is he talking about? I am assuming it is to evenly spread the heat so that thermal imaging cant see it... BUT if thats the case, the way he vents the air through a window would have to look super suspicious? (on a thermal imaging camera)
