Hey everyone,
Zandor and I have had some VERY BAD NEWS. Two of our very dear friends just got busted last week. They were having an early morning "discussion" that the neighbors didn't find entertaining. Apparently one of the nosy neighbors called the local P.D. and told them there was a domestic dispute. By the time they arrived at our friends home everything was back to normal. Of course the P.D. decided a quiet home wasn't enough for them, they had to separate the two adults to see if their stories matched; which they did.
Unfortunately the Mrs. of our two friends suffers from some serious medical problems and her speech is impaired do to side effects from a prescription medication. The words come out slow and are hesitated. Example, "I waaaa nnn 't to helllllll p her throuuuuu ggghh this terrrr rrible time. The cops immediately accused her of "being on drugs". She explained the side effects of the medication and they pushed it further. "We smell marijuana on you." They claimed.
They asked to search the home, and our friends promptly said "NO, we want a warrant and a lawyer!" quite a long while went by and the "friendly cop" said, we will leave your wife out of this. We will leave your children alone, if you just let us search your home; anything we find will go against you (the Mr.) and not the rest of your family. After long consideration, Mr. decided he had to SAVE the rest of his family and agreed to let them search. HUGE MISTAKE!!! NEVER EVER LET THE COPS SEARCH YOUR HOME!!!
They found 6 flowering plants and 17 ready to harvest. Before you ask, no neither one of them have a doctor recommendation!!! MISTAKE NUMBER TWO. If you live in the 11 states that let you have a recommendation and you don't have a doctors recommendation, you will go to jail!!!
As soon as they searched they took some of the plants, and some of the equipment. They left all of the seeds and all of their hash. As we all know Cops lie, cops lie, cops lie. How do you know they are lying? Their lips are moving!!! They took the children away to child protective services and arrested Mr. Now Mrs. has the same charges (5 felonies) but because of her medical problems they left her at home; alone.
We all figured Child protective Services (cps) would keep the kids the 3 days they normally take until everything settles down and they and they police make a case. During those 3 days Mrs. got her medical recommendation, so they would be covered in the future. Mr. was hauled off to jail and didn't get to bail out until 3AM the next morning; thankfully his boss bailed him out.
The 3 days come and went fairly quickly. Not fast enough for Mrs. of course she wanted her 5 and 6 year old home were they belong. We ALL thought they would show up; show their recommendation, collect their kids and go home. NO, that didn't happen.
They showed up in court as scheduled and CPS decided that Mrs. is an unfit mother because of the medications her personal doctor has her on. They even went to her doctor and got copies of her medical record (yes, Mrs. signed a consent for them to receive her medical record. MISTAKE NUMBER 3) They told the judge that the Doctor said she was unable to care for her kids in her present medical condition. (medical conditions consist of MS, depression, and seizures.)
They are making Mrs. STOP ALL MEDICATIONS so she is "drug-free". One of the medications, the one that causes her speech problems, stops her seizures and they are making her go cold-turkey. Stopping any of these Rx could cause her to start seizing again, or become unconscious, not to mention suicidal. But they don't care; they are forcing her to unsafely stop these meds and NOW she doesn't even have a Doctor she can trust because hers illegally testified against her (doctor patient confidentiality).
My heart goes out to Mrs. I feel everyone, including MR. has let her down! They are punishing her for being sick!!! I have spent hours crying over this situation. I have contacted EVERYONE I know in the activism field and NO ONE has called me back to try to help her/them. And now, since I haven't been able to help them... they are no longer speaking to us. I have left dozens of messages and they all go unanswered. I finally got the hint, left them a message saying we love them and wish them the best; but we get the hint. We will be here if they need us or want us; but I won't call again.
It breaks my heart to know those kids are not with their Mom... and Dad. It tears me apart to know that Mrs. is going through this alone! And it makes me angry to know that Mr. has jumped on the ban wagon with the rest of them, blaming Mrs. who is SO sick. This shouldn't be happening!!! We all live in California where Marijuana is supposed to be legal. NO county should have the right to ignore a STATE law!!! and no CPS, (with no medical training) should be telling Mrs. to stop "COLD" ALL of her NEEDED medications!!! Let see if I can remember exactly what they told me CPS said, "You can either have your Marijuana, or you can have your kids... it's your choice." I fear Mrs. will be harmed to the point she will never recover from these action. And there isn't a single thing we can do to stop this abuse!!!
In the end, Mrs. will have one hell of a case against CPS, R.P.D., and her doctor But, that isn't going to help her nor them right now.
