my first primordia

Just saw my first primordia this AM on the inside of one of my ball jars. (first try @ pf tek) Quite exciting!

The weird thing is that some jars colonized so much faster than others. I'll have to fruit in 2 separate stages.

Is this common?

I'd post pics but I'm a real paranoid. :)

Congrats dude, I'd love to see pics. My guess is that the moisture content was a bit off in some of the jars, causing them to colonize at different rates.

Aw man, there's been so much talk on here and in my outside life about growing my own primordials(a good euphemism btw) that it is becoming more and more of a possibility in my head! That's all I wanted to say on here, you guys(and many others) are inspiring me to break federal and state laws in order to obtain a naturally occurring fungus that has quite possibly sped up the evolution of the human species and is now become a pariah on the scene. . thanks ;):D

Amen to that Sancho! Talk people into setting up their own evolver box. So much smaller than an MJ grow setup.

I think I'll lose one jar at least due to contamination. Maybe I'll fruit that one in a separate container.

Hey DJ, I see you said you noticed the first primordia still in the jar. Have you birthed it yet?

I was thinking about letting it colonize further before letting it go. Its not 100% colonized yet. This is the same one that is contaminated, so maybe I'll fruit it on its own before its fully colonized. What do you think?

Tough to say, generally you shouldnt birth until it's 100%. Pics would help though.

How big of jars are you using? I found that if the jars were too big the colonization kinda quit.

They are half pint regular mouth ball jars. I'll try to whip up some pics.
