I am sure this is a question for the Z, but has anyone heard of this? Below is a link that states that it works in cucumbers. Dunno if it would traverse to Mary or not but I figured I'd post it out here to see if someone is in the position to try it out or has any additional info on it.

glad this point was raised ..ive been doing this for years ..whenever i start new seeds and theyve reached the point were the flowering cycle is about to start i always hang a sock filled with apple peel ...apple peel gives off ethylene gas which is a known female hormone affecter ..using this method ive always attained a higher percentage of females than is expected ...this year is the first year ive not followed my own practise and its been the worst year for me personally ..only achieving a 3/10 fem to male ratio ..i say give it try for yourslef and see ...but i swear by it

Dude,
That put a funny image in my head. So apple peels.... no shit. So do the peels ferment or do they just give off the gas as they decompose? That is really interesting about your test on female vs male. However this has made me ask another question.
Zandor says (I think) that sex is determined between weeks 3-6 of veg. So if you put them in just before flower, did that fall into that timeframe? If so I am REALLY interested.
