Dopestock 09 "the dopefiend palace"

there's been an idea going around about us getting a dorm at the flying pig downtown, the dorm would be renamed "the dopefiend palace" and just be for us dopestock people, the size of the dorm would depend on how many of us want to go, so are you up for it?

PLEASE NOTE!

there is one thing to remember, by us all sharing a dorm we all need to check in and out on the same dates! as it would be a group booking, these dates need to be finalized which will take place in this thread, if you are planning on going or coming back outside of these dates then it will BE UP TO YOU to make arrangements for those days/nights!

to get us started shall we say 7 nights - 16th to 23rd of April?? which is a Thursday to Thursday costing about €220-€250 for the 7 nights (depending on size of dorm) with a €10-€13 deposit when booked, this is priced per person

This is a great idea Pothead. My only concern is the length of stay. I can see this becoming an issue. How many people will we need to secure the "dopefiend palace" and when is the latest we have to book it by? I still have to organize a visa and plane ticket! Holy s**t! I didn't realize April is not that far away :eek:

I was set on spending 5 nights, mainly due to financial reasons (the South African Rand is weaker than any of our willpower in a tolerance break in the 'dam). Although, I do have a spare kidney I'll be willing to sell for the two extra days ;)

How does everyone else feel?

dorm sizes are 4,6,12,14 people per dorm (im in so theres one place taken:p

ive just been back to there web site and have found out there web site only lets you book a maximum of 6 people at a time, which gives us two ways to go, if there's 4 or 6 of us i can book a dorm and we will all share

if we have more than 6 i will need to email them because i wouldn't want to book via there website for more than 6 in case they put us in more than one dorm,

if most want to stay for less than 7 nights that could be changed and the people (like me) who want to stay for longer can make other arrangements

i would say as soon as we can but shell we say December the 1st? i just don't want to leave it to long and it gets booked up

all you would need is about €12 deposit and a guaranteed yes you are going to turn up, that's it you pay the rest on the day of arrival at the hostel, of which we would need to meet up at a prearranged time and place on the day of arrival so we could all go in at the same time (to get are keys and get everyone's money together etc)

looking at flights from where i want to fly from, i will be in amsterdam and at the hostel about 6pm

This eases my anxiety, thanks Pothead! I'm going to work out all my finances now (I will be unemplyed from December 1st as I'm emigrating). I thought we had to pay the full amount upfront :eek: but 12 Euro's is nothing to worry about ;)

I'm getting very excited! I can't wait :D

Pothead, I'm in for all 7 days man! I'm really hoping we can get a bunch of us together so we can make this happen. I can't think of anything cooler. :D

I'm travelling with my Volcano too, so at least we have that part covered ;)

i have some bad news, i sent a email to the flying pig asking if they could confirm a few things and unfortunately they did not, it was the opposite :mad:

i asked them if we where to book say a 6 person dorm and only 5 of us turned up (worst case scenario, as you never know if someone will become ill of have an accident or something and not make it) and was i right in thinking that they would just charge for the 5 and let the other bed out to someone else and there answer was yes and no!

if we canceled that person with a minimum time before arrival then yes we would just have to pay for the 5 BUT if it was not canceled in time we would still have to pay for all 6

so if this idea does go ahead there will have to be a little change, anyone wanting to do this will have to pay in full at time of booking (sorry for the change), the reason being we can't guarantee we could cancel in time and if that was the case i don't think its fair that we all then have to chip in to cover the cost of that person and especially when there not even there
