all right new england thanks to hurricane kyle just got dumped on with 1 weeks worth of stagnant wet humid humid air...and as you can probably guess my colas are rotting off the plants....2 weeks ago i thought i wa going to have a lot of medicine for my personal winter stash and now im being systematically rotted out

its attacking deep in the meat of the buds and appears like a grey powdery area that when inspected just comes out as rot....it spreads like a zombie movie from one area on the bud deep in by the stem to the next bud area...i could fucking cry....6 months of work down the shitter

so heres what ive done....simply put i moved the potted plants inside and ran a fan on them....the buds are just drenched with water so i figured get them out of the rain and try and dry them out...they are still in thier pots and ive pulled away all the filthy rot areas....its been a few days and the rapid spread now seems to be under control...i smoked a little of the partially moldy dried in the oven bud and it was good and tasty... but now i feel kinda sick, ive got a sore throat real bad and i never get sick...it could be cause i went to my class reunion and partied like a viking last saturday night

the mold mostly hit sativa indica strains where the buds were big huge colas...my other plants which are pure sativas are not forming colas and instead just putting popcorn buds every where that dont seem to lock in the moisture as bad as the big cola plants...does this make sense?

Lion... My friend... Don't smoke mouldy anything. It causes real health issues. If you want to learn more, there is plenty of info on the net.

Mildew and mold are two different critters arn't they, I don't think milk will work to get rid of mold?

This is from an overgrow article called "Mildew That White Powder":
There are two types of mildew which most commonly attack marijuana plants, both indoor and outdoors. They are Downy Mildew (Plasmopara Viticola) and Powdery Mildew (Uncinula Necator). You will recognize these mildews by their distinctive white powdery substance which grows on the leaves of plants.

Hey Man, bad news about the mould, but don't throw anything away, try an extraction before you do. You could do a dry sift over a screen and then water extract what you get on the other side, or do a high ISO alcohol extraction, it worth a go after all you've out in.

The popcorn buds sound very much like a Thai sativa I grew last year, no colas, lots of little buds, when it was dry I could just strip the buds off with my hand, very tasty and up herb.

Hey CL, if there are bits untouched then try and save them by chopping as mould will spread if the weather is humid.
I still cringe when I remember how I chucked a large jar of mouldy weed in the bin, before I knew about doing an extraction, it's was NYCD too, arghhh. Try Green Dragon (c) Eric the Ruler, it's the bomb.

actually...Milk does work to quell mold & mildew. It is commonly used in greenhouses that want to stay organic.

Sulphur pot is the #1 remedie.

Gallon water with tbs baking soda works great too! It raises the ph to 9-10, and mold-mildew cannot survive in that alkaline an environment. Soak plant let dry. mold will dissolve after day or 2, wash off plant. rinse plant completely and keep fans blowing on it heavy to dry out dampness.
