after spending the whole afternoon researching various vapes i now realise i should have just had a sleep and come back here to your words of wisom hudsonrulez ...your answer is exactly what my trolling the net has come up with ..thanks for the heads up,wont be getting one ...basically ive narrowed my choices down to 3

1 volcano classic solid valve -pricey but im getting the best overall answers to questions with this

2 the herbal air -seems to have some excellent reviews to it especially to do with its effiency

3 the vapoureyes - a lot of people have raved about this one especially with its price ...im verging on taking this out of my choice range due to a few negatives about time heatin up and no variable heat control ,other than that it seems ok



do you have a verdict on this for me hudson ? i will take your answer as a respected one and will probably base my conclusion and choice on the answers of members of the board....i know i know everyone will say volcano ..but i need to be 1000% sure before i splash big mone on a vape ..im a tight fucker wha can i say .:D

Don't touch the Voodoo, it's just those horrible folk at Vapir repackaging their shitty technology again...

If you're really short on cash, go with the Vapureyes.

If you can afford it, the HerbalAire is the better low-cost option cos it has the temp control and the added option of a bag system (though not with an inbuilt fan or the ease of use and assembly as the Volcano).

If you can afford a Volcano, I think it's the only one with which you won't have at least a few minor gripes.

yeah it looks like its becoming the only option ..discussed it with the wife and shes given me the greenlight so to speak ...especially as she was told by her niece about a couple that toke and everyone knows because they smell of weed all the time ...something that has never even occurred to me in the past ...mainly because i have an elanra ioniser ..a serious bit of kit that purifies the air in my house and if i can warrant spending £400 on that then im sure i can warrant spending a few bob on the cano ..thanbks everyone for finally making my mind up

Man the volcano isn't very noisy, you could also just put it in a cupboard if you're worried about it... just buy it! It'll pay back for itself within a few months depending on how much you toke. Just take the plunge, I did and never looked back :D

Its essentially the same as a herbal aire but with no pump (bag system) attached to it. In fact if memory serves me right the herbal aire and happy vappy use to be partners. The units themselves are almost the exact same. If you entertain a lot I would go with the volcano. If its just you and your wife I would probably go with the herbal aire. The herbie wasn't meant for a crowd.

I wouldnt give vaporeyes a recomend because its so new and I have never used it so I can't give you an honest opion.

You can get a brand new UK Spec herbalaire on ebay for £150 all in (inc special delivery) - if you send him an offer. I actaully got mine for £147 all in inc next day special delivery. that makes it over a hundred quid cheaper than the classic volcano. :D

If noise is a factor, with the herbie you can use the completely silent manual inhale method which once you get the hang of it, works really well and gets me completely rat-arsed. :D :D

Whether you go volcano or the slightly more fiddly herbalaire you cant go wrong McGuyVince. :cool:

regardless of your choice, my only advice is... 1/3 vape, 2/3 breath in. Take it easy. Do a bag or two, then sit back for 20 mins. the hardest bit for me is the hands... i like skinning up, smoking etc.. the whole ritual really. i am slowly building a VV ritual, but it's tough as it's set up away from 'my chair'..

Day it turned up, i must have done 10 bags easy one after the other. i realised how brutal'd (haven't used that term in ages) i was when A) i was asleep before my head hit the pillow (it's rare for me to sleep that easy) and B) i was still fluffy the next day. I must have done an 8th that night, easily..

the ratio i suggested is purely so there is no waste. it really does tickle the throat and it's easy to cough if you inhale too much. you'll get used to it though :D think of it like a super smooth, THC plenty, no smoke bong. you need air.

incidently, my fave temp is 200C. you get a nice thick vapour in the bag with plenty of flavour. then up to 205 for the last bag or 2 ( i usually get 4 or 5 from a half full 'vessel'). the missus likes it at 175 and 178 as it's easier on the throat for her, but then she has a coughing fit if she laughs too hard, or wakes up...

either way... you'll love it :D vape it up.

Since your probably use to burnin the weed... When you first use the herbalaire, crank the nob up all the way. Let the herbalaire heat up for about 5 minutes before you drop the crucible in and then let it heat a little before you start to fill the bag.

The buzz is quite different than burnin and does take some getting use to. My wife informs me that the "medicine" goes straight to her back pain. What really surprized me was how little it takes for a good buzz and how long it lasts :)

What I've discovered is, when heated it expands.
So when heating the HA make sure that its on.
Otherwise the "mid" will be cool and not expanded,
hence a lose fit.

yep i did notice that the high was very clean if that makes sense,totally missed the bite of a tobacco joint ...like i said just couldnt get any higher with it ...thats not necessarily a bad thing though ...and boy did my lungs feel good last night and this morning ..it felt as if someone had given them a spring clean ...no groggy hangovery feeling either ...although i did a sneaky 3 skinner just before bed ...ive already made a list of things i need to do with it if im to carry on using it
1,get a more powerful whisper silent pump
2,work out how to make a 6ft bag or find a supplier
3,try very fresh material in it
4,remember the crucible is fucking hot ....3 times i hoiked it out with my fingers only to all about laughing because i had only just burnt my fingers trying to get at it

but all in all ...i love the taste ,i miss the nicotine bite,its damn noisy,but looks very arty.....time will tell if it gets resigned to the cupboard of stoner gadgets that have fallen by the wayside ...for the moment its a novelty that im enjoying

Try getting used to it using the mouthpiece before using the bag and pump, that way you won't lose so much vape for a start.

thats what i did ,,but last night i concocted a new bag out of food grade freezer bags ..basically sellotaped two together to make a good two foot bag ...worked a treat ...tried it first at 250 degrees then did another at 350 degrees ...then i refreshed the crucible and did a 3rd bag at 400 ...then i rolled a joint and sighed ...i was a tad high ...but still not a meat and potatoes stone ...which is defo down to the nicotine

The only way you're gonna get used to the no-nicotine high is to stop smoking tobacco! Every time you want a joint, just hit the HA on the highest temp setting. It'd also help if you had a good strong indica like Kush to begin with.

yea vince anything bellow 350 doesnt really do anything. I usually have the first two at 350 then crank it to 400. mystery solved. If your going to wean yourslef off of tobacco then use blunts. at least they taste better than stuff from cigs.

funny you should mention that as we've been having windy wet weather lately. But once you get a good cherry going you can keep it going unless the winds are like 60km per hour. That's why we have chillums and pipes for.
