I picked up "Da Buddha" a few weeks back, which is a stripped down and more affordable version of the Silver Surfer. This thing draws vapor like a champ! It's a very simple design with a ceramic heating element and a knob for temperature control (it'll take a week to get used to the temp settings), a hands free wand with ground glass, and a beefy aluminum body...this piece is incredibly well made and durable! It also comes with a really nice padded carrying case. The base model runs for about $160 and on the website there are many upgrades and accessories available. You'll find some pretty sweet accessories on the website including colored glass versions of the wands and mouthpieces, glass waterbubbler attachments, nebulizers, ect. The vapor is clean and tasty and gives a very clean and stimulating high with no sign of a hangover, unlike when I smoke...I like to use cannabis at night to stimulate my mind for reading, writing or guitar playing and I find myself waking in the morning with a clear head and ready to go! This piece is a wonderful option for those looking for a vaporizer in the $150-200 range...it's definitely the best you can get for the money! Another good point is that the customer service people seem to be very friendly and helpful which is surely a good sign. I thought I would post something short on this vap as it's fairly new on the market and many people are not yet aware of it.
Anyways, take care all and check it out! http://www.dabuddhavaporizer.com/
PS. Has anyone else tried this "great piece of kit", and if so...what was your experience like?

I know what you mean about weed hangovers, since ive gone vape only (ive gave up smoking peeps :) after 10 years) i experience much less groginess in the mornings.
and thats a damn cool looking bit of kit mate and cheap aswell (but high quality it seems - pardon the pun).
How do those whip vapes work ? do you fill the tube then disconnect from vape and then clear or is there some kind of carb involved like my herbalaire ? how are the hits ? meaty ?

I bought one of these online last friday, and it arrived in my mailbox yesterday. Unfortunately, immediately after I purchased it my financial situation has taken a bad turn, so i dont have very much or very good green to use it with. The contents of the box were: the very solidly built unit (if anyone has bought any apple products you know what i am talking about), plastic tubing, a ground glass wand that connects to the glass heater cover, and a small cheap mouthpiece all enclosed inside a very, very well padded psychedelic case in tiger colors. I've found it to work very well the 3 times ive used it so far. It hits incredibly smooth and the taste is fantastic!!
I've got pictures of everything, but i lost my camera cord so those should be up soon.

wow this is turning out to be an interesting thread. keep em coming guys and gals. This market is really amazing me how cheaper the technology is becoming. Too bad you don't live near me I could try these units out for myself! ;) But if it hits anywhere near as good as the original silver surfer then I will be thoroughly impressed and not hesitate giving it a recommendation.

Havent try the Buddha but I was a silver surfer owner for a little over a year and loved it. Even after i got my volcano, i still found myself craving some of those hits i got from my SS. If this unit hits anything like the SS (and from the looks of it, it does) then i definetely know what you are talking about.

BLASPHEMY!!
You should purge such impure thoughts from your mind my son. You have to give yourself whole-heartedly to the Volcano, in fact threads like this about other vaporizers are bad for the soul, don't dwell on them.
:D I've actually never tried another vape except the volcano so I have no idea what the quality difference is like. Some of the other ones seem pretty cool, what I'm really waiting for is a hand-held, portable version of the Volcano, or something of equal quality. I'd coin it "The Stickel" (after Storz and Bickel) and make sure the name caught on. You could even use it in a restaurant, for a good 6 months no one would have any idea what it was and you could just say it was an asthma inhaler. Though it would probably still smell...

I was in the same boat so can relate, its a pig at first but totally worth it in the end.
Look forward to some pics (maybe review?), did you get any custom glass bits ?

Well, I've had Da Buddha for a little over a month now and I don't regret a thing! The whip consists of a rubber (food grade) tube with a glass mouthpiece on one end and a glass wand on the other. The tip of the wand is ground glass so it's a "hands free" operation. You pack the herb into the far end of the wand (there is a screen about an inch in) and attach the wand to the heater cover on the main unit. Then, you draw air that is heated by the ceramic element through the herb...simple as that. There's no need for a carb and once you insert the wand into the heater cover it can just stay there until the end. When I first began using it I kept setting the temperature too high and it would incinerate and smoke at times. Once you get the hang of the temp settings though, the vapor is very tasty and quite "meaty". I used a Silver Surfer a while back and it hit great as well. I haven't used the Surfer extensively, so I wont say for certain, but from what I have experienced both units hit comparably.
ps. My poor glass pipe has received no attention since the arrival of the vaporizer :-)
