i was thinking about this idea while wondering what kind of vape i want to buy, and i know volcano is the best but it is a big investment for me as a student. but i just bought a heat gun at a garage sale for 15 dollars. so my idea is you just connect a vape bowl to a volcano bag so that it is simple to use when youre baked. fill it up using the heat gun take of the bowl off and enjoi (repeat as needed). i was just wondering if any one has donne this and if they have could you post somme picture or something.
thank you very much

My set up is kind of strange; I use a herb chamber from a voodoo (worst vapoizer ever) I take this and slide it into the neck of broken beer bottle I wrapped duct tape around the sharp edges and shove the neck into the mouthpiece of a small glass bong. now the bag is just a regular kitchen garbage bag duct taped to a glass on glass bowl piece. so with all that stuff conected I point the heat gun down the neck of the bong and fill the bag. if I can get my camera back ill post some pictures later tonight, My heat gun has a bunch of settings but only the two lowest ones will vape without starting the weed on fire, the lowest setting is 250 f and the next one is 350 f

really get the best heat gun you can find because temperature control is what its all about, My heat gun gets the job done but there are far better ones out there.

hope this helps

Hey Savage Henry,

Welcome to TGR! Just a quick thought: are you sure using a garbage bag is a great idea to be vaping into? I'm no expert but I would think you could possibly be inhaling some noxious fumes from the plastic. I'm hoping others out there will clarify this because it does seem somewhat risky imo.

Great ghetto-vape idea though! :)

I would not use a garbage bag because there are toxic chemicales in garbage bags. Food safe bags are safe for human consumption and are 10 dollars for 9 feet where as its just 1 or 2 dollars max for 9 feet.

I would just buy a big bowl and use that heat gun with a bong.

In my particular setup the hot vapor cools down considerably by the time it gets to the bag, especially If you put ice in the bong. an oven bag is probably a better solution, but I just came up with something out of odds and ends lying around and it works for me. I dont think im boiling off noxious plastic fumes into my lungs, ive been using it for awhile and all I taste is sweet, sweet vapor.

I tried the big bowl idea and kept blowing the weed out of the bowl, I tried to put a screen over it but it didn't work out to well either. I actualy ended up making this vaporizer because I was so frustrated trying to get the big bowl method to work

be wary of garbage bags ..they give off phalatalates ...not got time to explain but basically there bad for your health dude .google it

they give off phalatalates ...

this produces no results in google or yahoo search

upon looking at wikipedias entry for polyethylene (what most garbage bags are made of) it appears that it melts at around 220 to 265 °f but I think that my vapor is far cooler than that by the time it reaches the bag. Im not sure if polyethylene sublimates directly from a solid to a gas but I guess that it probably could given the right circumstances. but assuming that it wont sublimate id imagine it must melt before any gas would be released and I have yet to melt a bag, I don't know in anycase an oven bag probably is better

It looks like phlatalates are in about anything thats made of petroleum so that means plastic drink containers, shampoo, cosmetics, and probably oven bags too. I don't know, it seems every manufactured product these days contains somthing thats harmful.

personaly im a big fan of natural products, nothing beats mother nature at making things that are good for you.

I first got into the world of vaporizing a couple months back with the ubie: http://americansmokeless.com and I have been using it ever since. This works fine for one or two people, but can be a little tedious. After doing some research, I was almost set on getting a vapor brothers vaporizer. A volcano would be nice, but of course, the price held me back. Watching various videos on youtube, I came across these:

I never knew they even made heat guns! While watching my girlfriend blow dry her hair, I thought "If only that could be used to vaporize..."

Well, vocanos are simply very expensive heat guns. All you have to do is get your self a decent one, like a Steinel or Milwaukee brand, preferably with a digital readout. Then, figure out some way to make the bowl. Finally, get some cooking bags and you are good to go!
