Hello!
I am now at 6 weeks of flowering and I have read so much on how to tell if you should harvest that now I don't know what to think!
I have using a pocket microscope to insepct the trichs and while there are some very small percentage of amber trichs the majority are clear with some cloudy.
I now that the curing process will increase maturation. I read that some people go on the colors of the hairs and read others only go on trich color. Some seem to use both trichs and hairs.
These are shots today. Please help!!!! I think that these are a couple of weeks away yet?

what strain are you growing and what is their usual flower time? Know that will usually give you at least a time to focus on but you always wanna be checking your trichs and i am one of those that goes by the hairs as well. 6 weeks more might be pushing it, some indicas will finish in as little as 8 weeks but either way you have at least a couple of more to go before you harvest.

I would go ahead and start to take little samples starting in a week or two and dry cure them nicely. That way you'll know next time how you like that strain. That, and I have no will power so this thought process eases the guilt of snatching juicy sweet smelling sticky little bits of goodness off of it now and then before their prime :D
What's your flushing plan?

OK thanks everybody. Who is the nube with the mild panic attack eh? Small case of the jitters :D
I clipped a little bud to get a sample and am keeping a close watch on the trichs to.
With so much information on the net it can get so confsing to know whats the best thing to do! I like the advice I get from you all, and its real good of you all.

The color of the pistils (hairs) mean nothing and are NOT a sign of maturity.
ONLY the trichomes are and you are looking for the average with in the field of view of your 30x pocket microscope.
A mature trichome looks like a golf ball sitting on a "T" its stands tall and round on the top.
Yes some will mature early and that is normal, that is why I say harvest on the average.
A good rule of thumb for beginners is if you think they are done....then give it 2 weeks more.
Hope your crop turns out well for you.
Peace

THank you Z, and to everyone else to. Sleeping has resumed :)
The sample I snipped is pretty good! Clear and energetic high but I can tell that it has a while to go as it does not last to long. I can say though that it is already better than a lot of crap that I bought from dealers before :D
