pipes vs bongs

ive heard you say it a couple of times that pipes and joints are better than bongs because it cools the smoke and you can inhale it deeper. I dont think that matters that much.
I think alot more resin and tar get filtered out through the layers of water and captured on the side of the glass. But when you use a pipe it goes strait into your throat. This is just how I see things because i like bongs.


the bottom of the bong gets dirtier first and gets cleaner towards the top
does anyone have anymore info?

I think the bong is like....the special ociasion smoking tool. Best with 3 or more people. by yourself, or with a friend....just a glass bowl is perfect. I think each has their moments

Just thought I would comment. When was younger and used bongs, it was mostly to get the most bang out of the schwag mexi brink bud. Now that I get more select buds (maybe not what the Dopefined and co get kindly delivered, but I am happy) a simple pipe is fine, and if it is for others than a joint never hurt anyones feelings. When I was doing bong hits as my norm, my lungs got trashed. when I stopped, they got better.

its a myth water filters it it dosent it cools it down but thats about it all the dirt etc is whats come from the bowl and droped in etc

Im saying that a bong takes out more impurities than a pipe i can see all that crap stuck to the sides of my bong that i clean out weekly. Whereas in a pipe that stuff goes all the way to the tip of the mouthpeice so i know its caking my lungs.

Also i have a carbon filter for my bong if i want. The smoke goes through 4 layers of water. I take 2 hits then im done for awhile.

I have taken hits out of hot water so i know cooling doesnt have much of an effect. So i just cant believe pipes are better.

Were I come from what you guys is calling a bong is called water pipe and a bong or(shebong) is when you have a tube with a chillum or something at a right angel. You got to stop one end of the tube with your hand and suck hard and then open, and the turbo effect will down a horse if the bhang is good enough. It has definitive health issues an especially as wee always mixed the herb with tobacco, but the psychedelic effect is great.

I would vote for the bong without water.
but nowdays i prefer my homade vaporizer.

Well from my own experience we used bongs for more social smoke sessions, and also to get more ripped. You definitely get higher when smoking from a bong.

Pipes or 'pieces' are my next preferred method. They are just easier, convenient, and less wasteful than Joint or Blunt. You really get the flavor, and a sense of appreciation for the bud itself with the piece.

I would just say what I always have been saying, if you use a bong, go a little bit easier. You don't need to do those ultra mega clear thick white chamber hits each time. The water does filter it, but as said before, that makes no difference when you're taking in a lot of 'excess hits'.

Best way to see what works for yourself is to do what I did years ago...go for your own side by side comparison. Hope that helps.

Personally I prefer bongs to all. Thats what I learned to smoke on. But sadly I have to smoke joints or pipes because my one and only(and favorite) bong got taken away by the cops.

i also started smoking bongs and that's all i did for years but finally got sick (and poor) after years of my dog's powerful tails continually knocking and breaking glass bong after glass bong off my coffee table!! so, went to joints and now on the vape :)

Ordinarily I smoke joints but occasionaly it's cool to smoke a bong with friends...gets me pretty fogged...
