I have a strange problem that I'd love to get some advice on. I have three dutch passion blueberrys that are about ready to come down. These things are covered with nanners. So many, i stopped trying to pick em off. I've had one or two b4, but these plants have three or four on just about every bud - no shit.
I'm not looking to solve the problem, it's too late. besides, I think I screwed up the soil mix when I re-potted for flower. Way too much N I think...but I digress
What the heck do I do with the bud. The yield will low, looks like 3-4 zips or so. (Last pull was COB, 13 zips dry.) How good is bud with all these friggin nanners stickin out? Anyone have this??

chop'em, smok'em. the damage is done. salvage what is left of thc, by harvesting. Otherwise plant will omit thc production in lieu of nanners...OK. Peace

Forgive my stupidity, but I was wondering what you were talking about when you said 'nanners'.
So I googled nanners. This was what I got:
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Nanner
:eek::eek:
Hope you get a good smoke anyway.

he means that the female plant will also create male pollen sacks. They come out as little yellow pointy things that look like a little banana. Also known as a hermie plant.

Hey everyone,
I hope there is a photo in this post. It's the 1st i ever posted, so I hope I get it.
I should have said in the first post. I take 2 RX drugs 4 allergies every day. I'm a little paranoid that actually SMOKING pollen could make me hyper-sensitive, then my nose would fall off, eyes turn 2 stone, ect....
I was wondering if anyone remembers smoking bud with more than the ocassional nannar. And, if it was a problem.
Dark Spark. Sorry man...I should have been more clear. A nannar is a pollen sac that grows on a female plant. It usually happens when the plant is unhappy in some way. It is natures way of protecting the plant. If a plant is in an environment that is less than ideal, it goes into a mode where it can pollenate itself. Nature does this incase this is the only plant of the species in the area, thus there is little chance of being pollenated by someother male plant. Nature assumes that if the environment is less than ideal for this plant, it may well b the only one around. I took a photo and put a circle around this F__KIN nanner. In the photo u can c some immature seeds forming that some other FU_KIN nannar made. I think I put 2X the normal amount of blood meal in the mix. I think this caused enough stress to cause a boatload of nanners.

Thanks for posting the pic, SF. Those don't look like nanners to me...well maybe they look like nanners that have split and release pollen. Your plant is definitely pollinated though. I do agree with latewood...chop 'em and enjoy what you can. I have no idea of cannabis pollen will impact your allergies, man. This may be a question for DoubleDoc at BBs Bungalow.
Best,

Hey Steel,
Nah....they are (little basturds). I've been pickin off the mature ones. The ones in the pic have pretty much just emerged. If u see em in person, they jump right out at ya. Especially the "post-it note" yellow color, that's a dead give-away. I was'nt able to capture the color accuratly in the pic.
I pulled the first of three plants. got 1.5oz dry. Smells nice, not very potent. Life could be worse. One more ready this weekend.
Good idea about double doc. Thanks.

Thanks Oldbay - I did eventually realise Stond_Face was talking about 'bananas' and not ....ermm anything else, lol.
Same thing happened at the end of my first grow. My plant got stressed right at the end of flowering and grew a couple of male flowers, but there was no chance for the plant to set seed before it got the chop.

Ah...I gotcha, SF...little bastards. :) Ya know, ya have to give it the cannabis plant...how fuckin' resourceful of them to be able to sustain themselves. There are very few known plants that are able to do this.
IMO this characteristic is enough to support legalizing this amazing plant. Seriously, cannabis is so strong that it stands up in the face of adversity and says "fuck you...no male to keep me alive...I'll just do it myself! Furthermore, my offspring are gonna be female that will be able to do it themselves too!"
I'll bet if you listen closely to your plants...this is what they are saying. ;)
Nice yield SF...best of luck with the rest. :)

Hey Steel,
Yeah...yr right. When the chips r down, the pot plant will f__k itself.
I have another three of the same clones goin ATM. This time in hempy buckets ( hempy buckets = simple hydro setup). The plants look happy. But, there are a few bananas (sry darkspark) showin up. This blueberry must b a little moreprone to hermie + I must still b causing a little stress somehow.
