Well, I've been feeling like there should be a section devoted to people who like to get high and be creative, so I just made a thread. A lot of times, especially if I vape by myself, I find myself drawn to some paper and pen. I enjoy writing all the time, it's not just a "while high" kinda thing. Although, I find that when I am allowed to alter my state of mind for a few hours, I end up thinking of and writing down things that I might never while straight. How about anyone else? I want this thread to be here so people have a specific place to share their arts. Upload it all, writing, photography, videos, paintings and drawings! Let's see who here has some real talent brewing :)

There is nothing more satisfying than landing that one hit with perfect form.
That is my art.

for me its not creativity but objectivity. as like you I like to write but not while stoned. I find I like to enjoy things better when Im stoned. that or clean shit up cant figure it out.
I find that editing while being stoned really helps me. Why because it makes me look at things from a diffrent perspective. and because of my personality and disabilities I generally see things from my linear perspective.
However I am much more critical and introspective when editing. when I write I somtimes write for myself. so I know what Im reading but a diffrent person might have trouble understanding it. so in that way I am a better editor while stoned.
and I just clean shit because I dont like being lazy. its not an uncommon thing. use to have a college buddy who would clean up while really stoned. one night were patrying and this is like 3am and Ive been up since about 6am the day before and I pass out. The last thing I remember seeing is a pig stye (sp?) beer bottles everywhere, ashtrays full of boons (cigarettes) and general slobbyness.
The next I remember is waking up and everything was clean. I was like shit were late for the news (i was a tv broadcast major we did newscast every weekday at 10am roll call was 8am) and he was like. dude we just partied its friday (the day our class did not do these newscasts). I got really stoned and cleaned up.
At which point I laughed and we went to a local grease joint to nurse ourselves over from the hangover.

Very cool thread :)
I like making music when I'm very high...I love singing on shrooms, but the fiddly studio bits are much more difficult trippin ;)
From a commercial perspective however, I'm very selfish, and just make stuff that I like!!! This is my favourite, a cover from the best band in the world (ahem), The Sultans Of Ping, it's called The Turnip Fish. Recorded in one go, and finished in about 2 hours during one lots of fun stone session, it is very crap though so be warned hehehe :)

I have loads more stoner music session recordings if anyone wants them! haha...

Great tune QN - that's a sweet singing voice you have. My fave of yours is that Donovan cover - I think it was everything changes or something like that.

Love it all man. You have a great way with words, but your poetry isn't too contrived or forced, it paints an excellent picture.
Here is something I wrote most recently after a vape session. Not sure if it's too pompous or not, you guys decide :)
The Pothead Manifesto
We must be responsible
The image of the lazy, stupid stoner, must be put to rest. While this characterization of the cannabis smoker is much loved by partakers and abstainers alike, it does serious damage to the marijuana freedom movement. We must work to show the working class world that the majority of marijuana smokers are not thieves, deviants, or criminals, but rather they are the men and women working along side them, too afraid to express their love and appreciation for the herb. Let us create the new image by living it within our lives.
We must be confident.
Fear is the deadliest weapon they have. With fear they have the power to drive the whole movement underground. With every step forward we take, they would relish the ability to drive us deeper. Yet we have one very important thing on our side, and that is truth. With truth comes confidence. How many things in our lives can we honestly say we feel this passionate about? When you find passion, you have found truth, and then can truly see how it has been twisted. Be confident brothers and sisters, for truth is on our side. Truth is rooting for us, and truth is going to make sure we win.
We must be open.
Slowly at first, then more steadily we shall begin to unveil more about our lives to others. We would be keen to learn how to read those around us. How to sense if they too live in a special world deafened by secrecy. It is often surprising just how many people carry a generally positive attitude towards our sacrament, even if they do not partake. Blessed are these people, who represent us in a world that often views us as fools. Through honesty in all its forms, we grow closer as human beings. It shall be no different for us.
We must unite.
Let us band together as one to call upon the goodness of mankind. For in this hour we need not rely on government or institutions, we must rely on the ability within every human being to call injustice what it is. We must rely on those within our ranks and outside who remember that a democracy is not just for the people, but alas! BY the people as well. Our voices are designed as cogs in this beautiful machine.
We must be active
So let us churn, move, grind, and let us work this machine. Let us fight, let us love, let us cry and let us scream, but most importantly; let us LIVE! Through it all, let us never lose sight of why we travel this road.
Pothead Manifesto

While the concept of manifestos generally smacks of extremism to me, I have to say that I agree with yours, mattyTHC. It's pretty much what I've been doing for the last year or so. Just, you know, not in any sort of organised way. Herding cats and all that.
I do very much like smoking up when I'm in a creative mode, as I find it helps me concentrate more on the task at hand, and get distracted less. Of course the altered perspective is also handy. :D

I'm with you Hudsonrulez (http://thegrowreport.com/Forums/member.php?u=15) - my creativity goes out the window but I prefer doing objective things during that time. Thinking of situations that have occurred and seeing them other points of view I may not have considered before, doing what-if analysis, writing lists, cleaning, arranging and tidying. Must be something to do with my obsessive-compulsive nature!

Yeah QN, I used to fire up creative suite and go to town some nights. Working with vectors was always fun, since it is very painstaking and precise, so it would focus my attention. Here is an example of one that was made from a frame of a star wars comic:

Very nice vector work Matty :) I'm just starting to explore vector manipulation really. Got a copy of CorelDrawX3 which I'm pretty excited about using.
You know, I think it is the focus...I can zoom in on creative processes and extend them far beyond what I can when I'm sober...It's lovely :)

I love to edit while under the influence. It allows me to think laterally if that makes sense. Sort of an "out side the box" feeling that my girlfriend calls the "chained brain chase". I guess you could say it helps me see and edit things from a perspective that I might not have sober.

I like cooking while I am high my meals always come out just right even down to the presentation. I tend to listen to a lot of music to and I always think of posters and videos for the song I am listening to but I can't draw. I have an awesome Idea for a Poster of a Tool song. If you guys dig Tool the song "Right in Two" inspired a great change in me, and I highly recommend it, actually the whole 10,000 days album was a great inspiration (featured artwork Alex Grey)

Man, there are a lot of different ways to make art. Don't have to draw to do that. Exploring different ways to make art is a lot of fun. I'm stuck making graphics and stuff, but I've been thinking for ages about doing collage work, and using different materials...might be worth an explore?

I love the way different substances effect such beautiful and sometimes dramatic changes in the way we see things. I think that's why I like shrooms so much...like shaking all the bits and pieces up and they seem to fall into new spaces....wonderful :)

Qn, love, happiness runs, i recently picked the ganja back up and i must say i'm looking forward to tripping out on that tune and taking my love of music to that special level. Marvalous. But when it comes to creativity, i find that drawing seems to channel my euphoric state of mind. I have stories for each part of the drawing, that mostly are off-the-wall.

Entity is wonderful, like some crystal creaure exploding into light.

in lieu of your recommendation, i just put up a slew of new sunset/sky pics. it's an amazing site out in colorado everyday man, especially up in the mountains. you are literally 10-12,000 feet closer the sky there. the clouds are monstrous, the sky is azure blue, crisp, no haze, wonderful. every time someone looks up its a new, framed picture, fresh off the printers.
i love it so much that i'm planning to relocate to this region. imagine sitting on your back porch with a fat joint and some mellow blue grass tunes looking out at the earth doing what it does best. . .
