Hi all, my lovely girlfriend (who very shortly will be my wife!) has purchased me a Volcano for Christmas. It is the easyvalve digital one. My question is this.......how long on average do the bags last? I have five bags (obviously all with the valves attached).......will this last me a long time? The valve sets do seem quite expensive at around £50 for five.
I also got a Vapbong with it.....anybody know or used one of these??? It claims to be a portable one hit type of vapourisor but I though they didn't exist!!:D
Now I am just working on something to put in the bloody thing for Christmas!

lol, welcome to the land of vape clouds drifting across.. ok going of on one

how long will the bags last?

its up2 you really, some haven't changed a bag in 2 years, others once a week i do it every 2-3 weeks now, you can use the bag as much as you want but after a bit a film like lining appears on the inside of the bag which is ok but changes the taste,

i have the solid valve, which is cheaper, but im wanting to get the easy too so i can swap between laziness and economics + when my sister comes we can have a bag each at the same time:D

oh and that £50 is for the starter set, now you have it you will need to get the replacement set at about £25!

ive just ordered 19 boxes of bags + a few other bits for my solid i did want to get the easy but that will have to wait for now, i know it seems a lot but thats 2 years worth of bags! for me

Vapbong

haven't used one and don't know much about them but ive heard a few people like them

i hope this helps need anymore information just ask

i hope you get something nice to put in it;)

Your gonna love your christmas present, christmas day will be good:)

I tend to only change my bags every month, im only using my vap maybe twice a day so it doesnt seem to get too bad.

fuck pothead thats alotta bags:D

Have you had any luck with turkey bags in the uk? the last ones i bought from morrisons were too small and quite flimsy, not what i had in mind. jrecently got an order of another box of bags aswell along with the fine screens which seem to be pretty good, stops the really ground up weed falling through which happens occasionaly

The time for investing is getting close for me too, the more I think about it the more it seems good value, even at the hefty price tag, the only concern I have is how much maintenance they require, how often are you guys cleaning out your volcanos and how thorough is the process?

It may have a hefty price tag, but you'll find it will pay for itself as you use it. And as to the maintenance that the volcano requires, it's pretty easy to clean and take care of.

I clean the herb filling chamber each day that I use the Volcano. This takes about a minute or two. It's pretty simple. I just wipe down the pieces that have herb stuck to them with some rubbing alcohol. I'm from the school of thought that a little rubbing alcohol isn't going to kill me.

The bag is pretty much a change it when you think it needs to be changed affair. If you use the Volcano pretty regularly, I would say you'll want to change the bag every two weeks to a month, give or take. Although changing the bag is a little bit more involved, it's not that hard after you get the hang of it. Or at least that's what I tell myself as I hand it over to my wife, she is the one that actually changes the bag. LOL We've converted over to the Reynolds brand Turkey Bags, they are a little smaller than the bags that we used to make ourselves with those German turkey bags, but the Reynolds are quieter.

The instructions don't even require words, that's how simple the Volcano is to use. And we've actually given up smoking bongs and pipes because it seems to be a waste to burn weed instead of vaporizing it.

And if you ever have any questions I'm sure someone in the Skype chatroom will be more than happy to walk you through it. But man, this thing is stoner proof.

im a daily user of the volcano (what a suprise), i change the bag every 2-3 weeks and clean it and i on average change the screens every other time i do it, to run its cheap (cost a bit more for the easy valve) it works out the way i do it at about £10 every 6 months for bags, screens etc and one bowl in the volcano will last me a day, where as if it was joints with the same amount i would only get one:(

the instructions are easy, it takes about 30-40min to fully take it apart clean it, put it back together and put a new bag on (which isn't hard just a bit fiddly at first) you may find the first few times it may take a bit longer to do but you will get quicker;)

its one of the best investments ive made! ive had it just over a year now and wouldn't look back! i will be a year smoking free on the start of January:eek:

need anymore info just ask:D

crowley is it something like this???

http://www.vapbong.com/en/index.phpm

if it is the idea is to heat one end and inhale from the other, there no wear as good as the volcano, but i guess if your out and about its the nearest thing your going to get to smoke free on the move, but be careful not to over heat as it starts to burn! theres been bits in past podcasts about these maybe check back? some like these some don't, just remember it gets hot!!!!!

let us know how you get on?

Yep, the easyvalve is expensive. But you pay for convenience. For me it's worth every penny.

I used to use a solid valve. I changed it because, eventually, due to wear and tear there was a slight rip/hole near the base.

What a fantastic christmas present! Very thoughtful. I know it will give you many years of pleasure.

I don't understand this vik, where was there a rip/hole? You can't mean in the bag, because you could've just changed it, so do you mean the wire screen (also replaceable)?

Yes, I mean the bag/balloon (solid valve type)

It was in the part of the bag that the hot air/vapour goes into first. I had used it non-stop for a very long time. This was back in Jul/August 2007 when I had a severe shortage of weed and I was vaping the same bit over and over....

(The problem is that when I am really stoned I can't taste the vapour .. so I can't tell if the vapoop has been 'spent').

Nowadays, I wait for the filling chamber to cool and have a look at the colour. If it's gone from green to a brownish shade .. and I've had more than a 4 bags I throw it out (and vape some new weed)

Anyway, I tried to make a new bag but cos I got confused and gave up. The next day .. at work, I went on the Storz & Bickel Website and got the easyvalve set. Even paid a premium for express shipping (I got it really fast)

have you still got the solid? don't get me wrong i would like to end up with the easy and the solid (for a number of reasons), but was the hole in the bag the only reason you got the easy?

if you need help with putting a new bag on with the solid just pm me;)

I have the same problem with the taste of the weed. I usually stop tasting the weed after a few bags. And I've found that because I stir the weed in the chamber and when it starts getting to that brownish stage I give it a good *Sniff*. If it smells 'Planty' I usually change it.

Why would you throw it out? That is crazy talk! We save ours and cook with it. Why waste it?

OMG, that's what happened to me! After the first bag had to be changed my wife installed the new bag and it was all lopsided. We used it once or twice, but it just seemed off. So the Volcano spent about a year or two sitting in it's box. I chalked it up to just an expensive life lesson. Then I heard the Dopefiend. I think I just made another post about this....

hahaha!

It is a fiddly process, granted, and it takes a while to get it down... but giving up on changing the bag after one try?!!

I also get the OH to change the bags for me 'cos on the old-style valve, the black rubber ring is too hard to get on and off :o

But last weekend, I did change the screen finally - after 13 months it was well over-due but I now have a fine screen in and it's much better now!

those fine screens are better there the only ones i use and they don't cost much more, and there so much better with things like keif etc
