Well i took the plunge and am in the proccess of my first grow. I should call my cabinet the Murphy's Law cabinet. Everything seems to be going wrong and I'm the only one to blame. I will be posting pictures to help judge what the hells wrong with my babies but i can't now because their sleeping. Anyway when i first got them i immediatly switched them to 12/12 because of height constraints. one was at 10 and a half inches and the other at 8 and a half. After a few days of 12/12 one of the plants started to get interveinal banding. It looks really cool but you can tell its no good for the plant. So i did some research and it told me zinc. Well be being so new i'm not going to go buy zinc and try to shoot my plants up with it so i went and got a soil test kit (PH/N/P/K) and the first time i did it the N was off the scale. So i flushed twice. After a week the banding turned to yellow. and all the sun leaves were turning yellow (old growth not new). So i figured i'd mildly dose em with nutes. Well after a few more days no improvement. So i called a trusted member of the Grow Report over to see what he thinks. he says he swears it heat. My cabinet runs at 87 degrees Max (lights on) and 68 degrees Min (lights off). So i pose this question. What the hell do i do. All my sun leaves have come off and the plants have stopped growing. the buds look healthy but the plant overall looks like crap. I'm almost too embarrased to post picts. Will do it later though. Oh and my light i'm using is a 400W HPS. In the beginning kept at about 1 ft off of plants but now i keep it about 2 feet away (good move?) Thanks fellow farmers. You input would be greatly appreciated.

if your talking air flow i gotta 175 CFM Vortex. it pulls air through my 400W hps and throws it outta the cabinet and into the crawl space.the intake comes up through the floor and into the cabinet pulling fresh 60 degree air back into the cabinet

87 is a little hot but thats not the reason leaves are yellowing and falling off.
I think you have a nute problem. What type of nutrients are you giving em'?
(edit) Also, running at 87 you need to water more often.

I've grown plants in the 90's (in my grow room) but I needed to water them on a daily basis.

I'm using the General Hydroponics FloraMicro, FloraGro, and FloraBloom. I'm using the guide on the back and using the Blooming Ripening Formula of 1tsp gro, 2tsp Micro, 3tsp Bloom. I've fed not to long ago and the tips started to curl up and turn crunchy so i figured i over fertilized and i flushed them yesterday.

After mixing the nutes, do you adjust the pH to 6.8?

Dirt growing my man but yes i tested my soil and run off and they are really close to each other... About 6.0

Yes, a soil grow. Not asking about run off.
After you mix the nutes the pH (of the solution) will be really low (around 5.8). You need to re-adjust the pH of the solution with pH up, to around 6.5-6.8.

Agree with sttony...looks like a nute problem and under-watering. In addition to telling us what nutes you are using...what type of soil(less) mix are you using...what is the pH of the water and pH of the soil runoff (meaning the pH of the water that comes out the bottom of your planter)?
Overall, they are not in too bad of shape, but u are risking further bud development if you don't get it under control.
Best,
Steel

I bet you are the only one growing in a desert in Alaska. 92 degrees, 15% humidity and 8" away from a 400w light is going to burn any plant. I also think you need to be honest about what you did with the fertilizer to get good advice from other forum members.

Being that the plants were so yellow I decided they had gone to far for recovery and decided to just crop it early. I got some new starters so hopefully they'll be much better.

You may be over feeding them a bit, your soil has a good start for vegetation but do you have some bone meal on hand? Have you tested the soil PH with a soil meter? Dolomite lime will raise it just use a small amount at a time, it's easer to add more then it is to take out soil and lower it back down.
You should only been feeding them once or twice a week, the rest of the time just Ph adjusted water.
Everyone has already told you to drop the temp if you can it is a bit high.
Peace
