Police have discovered more than £1.3m worth of cannabis resin on the back of a truck, in East Kilbride, Scotland.
Strathclyde Police stopped an articulated unit and trailer on the A726, near to East Kilbride, at about 5:30pm on Tuesday 4 December.
After checking out documents relating to the truck and driver, a search of the load area was undertaken. The traffic officers found cannabis resin with an estimated street value of £1,350,000.
The source country and the final destination are as yet unclear and remain key avenues for the police enquiry.
Two men, aged 57 and 62 years, were arrested and detained in police custody where they will be held, until a report is sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

WOW! That must be the road from Strathaven!
I can confirm that any and all hash in that quantity in that location, is definitely going to be toxic! My only hope is that this was the decoy truck!

i would guess it being in the UK it is soap, but £1.3 million is a big chunk and if it was soap which is cheaper imagine how many bars there where:eek: thats about 4,500 9oz bars! and with £1.3 million they would of got more of a discount so it was probably even more bars:eek: i know its crap but thats a lot of bars

A Fort Collins couple and their lawyer plan to visit the Larimer County sheriff's office today in hopes of recovering 39 marijuana plants seized by narcotics officers during a raid at their home in August 2006.
A Larimer County District Court Judge ruled Monday that authorities must return the plants and growing equipment taken from James and Lisa Masters. Their lawyer described them as medical marijuana providers for themselves and eight to 10 other people.
Brian Vincente, lawyer for the couple, said he hopes that authorities have taken care of the plants as provided by the state's medical marijuana law, which was approved by voters in 2000.
"If they've allowed these plants to die, they've broken the law," said Vincente, executive director of Sensible Colorado, a nonprofit advocacy group of medical marijuana patients.
He described the ruling as the largest return of medical marijuana to a grower since the law went into effect. Vincente said if the plants were destroyed, his clients will seek compensation. By his estimate, the plants are worth about $100,000.
