I really liked the line "You can believe in stones as long as you do not throw them at me."
I read an interesting piece in Psychology today that I'll pass along.
"Ten Politically Incorrect Truths About Human Nature
Why most suicide bombers are Muslim, beautiful people have more daughters, humans are naturally polygamous, sexual harassment isn't sexist, and blonds are more attractive."
http://psychologytoday.com/articles/index.php?term=pto-4359.html
The thoughts about how polygamy creates a situation that encourages suicide bombers makde a lot of sense to me. The rest of the article is also well-worth reading.
I hope Wafa Sultan lives a long and peaceful life, but I'd say the odds are against it.

Good article. I think the take away lessen is that anyone really interested in addressing the problem of suicide bombers needs to devote their attention to ensuring that young single men in Muslim societies get laid regularly.

I can't imagine how she ever got to a position where she was able to come on an Islamic TV channel and say those things, im sure she's had a hard time in that society

I think she is right in that terrorist activities are wrong, and I'm sure some men turn to suicide bombing in sexual frustration, but I'm guessing they usually have a few stronger reasons as well.
The linked article is equating association with cause and effect with no solid reasoning. It stands to reason suicide bombers are less likely to have families and therefore are mostly single. To make the leap from that and say sexual frustration must be one of the major factors is highly dubious IMO.
If you look at the scale of western imperialism and compare it to muslim imperialism, in the modern world, its western culture that is at the heart of the problem and the cause of most of the violence, not muslims and muslim culture.

Took some balls to say that man, but I think you're spot on right.
Whilst the concept of suicide bombing is hard for a westerner to understand (impossible), deaths from such acts are small compared to illegal invasions.

yeah man I view the demonisation of muslims no different to the demonisation of drugs, ie propaganda to create fear and to justify the tightening of government control and the loss of individual freedom and rights. :(
PS - I am not muslim :)

Terrorism (in a Muslim suicide-bomber sense) is a war waged on Western countries not by a Religion--but by sovereign nations, Syria, Libya, Saudi Arabia, because they can't wage that war conventionally.
The West is as guilty of perpetuating this system as the middle-eastern Monarchs. Ultimately, the powers that have ruled the U.S. since the Eisenhower era know that turmoil and strife is the best way to control this region and to insure the steady supply of affordable oil.
Here is a good short summary:
