Hello fellow stoners!

DF was talking about cannabis drinks on the lastest dopecast and it got me really wanting to try something out. After a bit of research I've come across this guide to making the legendary Green Dragon

http://www.greendragon.lhosting.info/

The process basically involves baking the weed in the oven for 5 minutes then placing it in a mason jar with high proof rum (Recommends Barcardi 151) and simmering in a water bath for 20 minutes.

1 mm (yes only 1 mm) is meant to get you nicely stoned, 2 mm is meant to get you completed wasted.

Has anyone tried making this before? Perhaps the DF could do an experiement for us and broadcast the result on the show :D

If this really works it could be even more economical than using the Volcano.

Slight snag, having trouble locating a bottle of Barcardi 151. Found a couple of online retailers but it going for £45 a bottle. Perhaps not as cost effective as first thought.

Still if nobody else has an experience of this I'll try it out when pay day comes round

I reckon you could just use grain alcohol if it only requires a tiny amount to administer it: that'd be cheaper that bacardi anyway. Here's a recipe which looks identical to yours only using grain alcohol:

This is the recipe that I use because I seem to be one of those instant gratification kind of people (Oh sure, like you're not http://forum.thegrowreport.com/emoticons/emotion-5.gif). Start by heating up your oven to 325 so you can convert the THCA into THC the way llamabox explained in the previous post. This is a very important step so don't omit it. I've tried skipping it and the end product just doesn't have the nessessary BAM! Then put a pan with a couple of inches of water on the burner to boil. Take 1/8 oz. of well dried bud or at least the trim from your buds, and grind it as fine as ground coffee. Spread it out on a piece of aluminum foil and bake it for 5 minutes. The aroma is excellent, however there is no doubt that something is going on, so do it somewhere that has real good exhaust vents or somewhere that the smell won't matter. Take it from the oven and put it in a pint Mason jar or any pint canning jar because they're designed to take the heat. Pour in enough Everclear (yes, pure grain alcohol is preferable but I don't know where to get it) to cover the herb then pour in that much more. So if the dry ingredient is an inch thick across the bottom of the jar, you want to put in enough alcohol to make the mixture 2 inches thick. Now place the jar in the boiling water and keep the mixture at 170oF or just below the boiling point of alcohol for 20 minutes. You should see the particles rising to the top and going back down due to convection but the liquid should not boil. After 20 minutes it should be reduced by half. Let it cool enough to not burn you when you squeeze all the liquid out of the cheesecloth that you strain it through and add honey to taste. Try an eyedropper full and wait at least an hour, or even 90 minutes to see how it effects you because everyone's different. Wieght, tolerance, and quality of the herb are the main variables. I have, on occasion, while adjusting for taste, injested enough to get a major case of couchlock. Which is OK if that's your goal at that time. Mine wasn't so I had to put everything on hold for several hours. I stayed up really late one night making a batch and I had a little more than would fit in the dropper bottle so down the hatch it went so as not to waste it and I went off to bed. I woke up 4 hours later and was still too polluted to drive for a couple of hours more. NO SHIT so be careful and enjoy.

This is great, would like to know when you've had a successful run at it!

I'm about to start my first home-brew....I wonder if I can THC it up at all?

I've discovered a rather nice mixture; I call it Green Grouse, lol. I've been putting all the stems and other rubbish from my bags into a little bottle of Famous Grouse whiskey for about 3 months now. The flavour is awesome but I'm still to know exactly what the stone feels like (if I feel anything at all) because most of the time that I try it, I'm pretty baked already! It does seems to increase the stone though.

that sounds awesome, as a tequilla lover I gonna do the same with some tequilla. I've got a little baccy tin full of stix and shakey crap. I rekon the tequila with the infused herb will be a great mental combination :D

What is the reason for putting it in the oven?
